Loved your blog as usual!! Have always sewn but had a huge gap when I didn’t do anything!!! Then I discovered Instagram and stitch bloggers like yourself and was inspired to pick up dressmaking again and watching you start up that beautiful shop makes me wish I was young enough to start all
Over again!!!! ❤️?❤️?❤️??
I learned to sew at secondary school many years ago and have never stopped. I love to make clothes and toys for my grandaughters now and quilts for charity too
My mom taught my sister and me to sew when we were in elementary school which is about 40 years ago now. My mom instilled in us the principle of creating for ourselves anything that we wanted. Sewing ( and knitting, crocheting, pottery cooking) with our mom was such a precious gift. It’s been a year since she has passed and I feel her nearness often and especially when I’m in my sewing room.
I have always enjoyed creating something unique and individual with fabric and can remember the moment I fell in love with fabric as a young girl when I made a French beret for my doll in a rust coloured velvet that felt wonderful. I have filled our home with many makes and am now trying my hand at things for myself and learning so much from your blogs . I have lost my dear mum this year and find my sewing great therapy.
Hi Sheona! The shop looks amazing, congratulations! I began to sew for two reasons, I love to snuggle up in PJ’s when I get home from work to do my chores and relax…hard to find, non itchy comfy PJ’s and so I thought well let make them and also, I have put on a bit of weight, I have a very sedentary job, and I found it difficult to find things that fit well and were comfortable–sewing my own clothes has been amazing. I’m not really good and still need lots of practice and tips! Your channel and others like yours really helps to give me the confidence and tutorials that will keep me on track to do better!
