We love bringing you new makers on the blog and month we have another amazing one for you! Emma (@Craftyclyde) is is yet another of our amazing #MySewisfaction makers to win a £25 voucher to go towards her next project. We asked Emma all about her sewing story, upcoming makes and more.
Hey Emma, tell us a bit about yourself?
I’m Emma aka Crafty Clyde and totally obsessed with all things tortoise (reptiles and amphibians of all kinds really!) I work in law and sewing is my creative outlet. Myself and The Fabric Wrangler started a local sewing group in Norwich and that also takes up a lot of time!
How did you get into sewing?
I got into sewing when I first moved to Norfolk as I didn’t really know anyone and wanted a hobby. I saw a Vivienne Westwood T-shirt dress and thought, that looks a simple shape, maybe I could try and make my own!
Where do you do your sewing?
I’m very lucky and have a sewing room at home, full of all things crafty and creative. It’s such a lovely space to escape to.
What’s your proudest ever make?
My proudest makes are ones which I’ve made for friends and family and they have loved them. I made Sukiyaki robes for my wedding which was great fun. My sister also picks really fun fabric so I like making dresses for her. I’ve just finished an Armedale dress by Style Arc which I think is my new favourite for myself!
What’s next on your list?
Next up is a hoodie as I’ve never tried that before and it’s cosy season coming up. Active wear and some great fitting trousers are also on the list!
Isn’t Emma amazing? Why not give her a follow over on @craftyclyde
