Next up in our ‘Meet the team’ series is Hayley. Our newbie in the shop and another sewist, Hayley has already tackled her first super busy in-store event and is looking forward to a 2020 full of sewing for herself.
Hayley answers our ‘Meet the team’ questions.
Start by telling us a little bit about you?
Hi I’m Hayley. I grew up in Wokingham and I’m married with 2 teenagers. I was taught to sew by my grandma and loved sewing ever since. I love anything crafty, baking, writing in my bullet journal, photography and enjoy listening to Will Young (preferably live)
What’s your role at Sewisfaction?
I’m the newest part time shop assistant with the team and I also work for the NHS. I love working in the shop serving customers, wrapping and sending orders, getting classes ready and enjoy making up the swatches!
Tell us a little bit about your top make of 2019?
The top I’m wearing (pictured) is the first item of clothing I have made for a while with lovely rayon fabric from the shop. I have just completed the introduction to dressmaking and gained some really handy tips and a lovely dress!
What’s next in your sewing queue?
I have so many things in my sewing pile that I want to do and lots of fabric too! I do have a Tilly and the buttons ‘Miette ‘skirt in soft needle cord all cut out ready to go and also some gifts that I need to finish.
Any New Year’s sewing resolutions?
Sewing resolutions would have to be making time to sew ! Blocking small amounts of time in the week and not feeling guilty about it. I also really want to practice more with jersey and want to sew up the linden sweatshirt and an Agnes top.
